Electrical Inspector

Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections of electrical systems and installations, including wiring, lighting, grounding, switchgear, panels, and conduits.

Ensure all materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications and relevant electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC, and local regulations).

Review and assess electrical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

Witness and document the execution of electrical tests, including insulation resistance, continuity, grounding, and functional performance tests.

Identify any deviations from standards or specifications and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as necessary.

Supervise the contractor's work to confirm compliance with safety protocols and applicable regulations.

Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve site-related issues promptly.

Maintain comprehensive inspection records and prepare detailed daily and weekly inspection reports, utilizing platforms such as Aconex and other paperless documentation systems.

Support the final inspection and handover processes by participating in punch list activities and snagging inspections.

Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Minimum [5+] years of experience in electrical inspection, preferably on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and practices.

Certification as an Electrical Inspector (e.g., from NFPA, ICC, or equivalent) is a plus.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical documents.

Familiarity with safety protocols and quality management systems (ISO 9001, OSHA, etc.).

Strong communication and reporting skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
