Contracts Manager (Power Plants/Energy)

Responsibilities

Contract Management

  • Adhere to organization's Standard Operating Procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Negotiate contracts and other contractual instruments (NDAs, MOUs, Power Purchase Agreements, etc.) with potential sellers/suppliers.
  • Draft and negotiate Consultancy, Supply, Construction Contracts/Sub-Contracts/LOAs/LOIs/PPAs/LTSAs.
  • Draft and review other contractual instruments including collateral warranties, bank guarantees, parent company guarantees, Letters of Credit, etc.
  • Assist GM Operations/Department Head in preparing against and defending formal disputes (litigation/arbitration) by preparing Statements of Claims, memorandums, etc.
  • Draft, review, and respond to contractual correspondences in coordination with Operations Head, Executive Director, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and defend claims (Extension of Time, Disruption, Acceleration, Abortive Works) raised by suppliers, contractors, consultants, or sub-contractors.
  • Advise on complex contractual matters, including suspension and termination scenarios, providing solutions to avoid, mitigate, or transfer risks.
  • Be well-versed with FIDIC and/or other internationally accepted contract standards and capable of drafting contracts and other contractual instruments.

Document Management and Maintaining Contemporary Records

  • Establish, manage, and enforce document management processes to control and monitor all contracts, sub-contracts, correspondences, claims, counterclaims, etc., on the central server.
  • Conduct bi-weekly meetings/workshops with GM Operations/Contracts Head to track the status of pending tasks.
