Quantity Surveyor - Cost Plan

Job Purpose

Provide cost planning and cost management expertise during all stages of a project, ensuring feasibility, accuracy, and alignment with the client’s financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide cost plans during early stages of projects through detailed feasibility studies and cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with the design department to define the cost plan, identify financial constraints, and recommend procurement strategies.
  • Refine initial cost plans, conduct value engineering exercises, and advise on design modifications for cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct detailed cost checks against evolving designs to maintain budgetary control.
  • Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), including:
    • Collecting and reviewing all relevant project documents.
    • Itemising and categorising materials and labour.
    • Quality control and cross-checking for accuracy and consistency.
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
    • Final compilation in a clear, organized format with project details.
  • Provide detailed cost information to support tender document preparation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in Cost Consultancy is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Planswift, AutoCAD, and BIM.
