Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Dry Utilities

Job Responsibilities

Design Management & Technical Leadership

  • Lead and manage the design of electrical dry utilities networks, including LV distribution, street lighting, telecom ducting, and related infrastructure.
  • Oversee design consultants and internal teams to ensure designs meet project objectives, standards, and timelines.
  • Review, prepare, coordinate, and approve design submissions, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Ensure all designs comply with DEWA, RTA, Etisalat, du, and Dubai Municipality (DM) requirements.
  • Coordinate design interfaces with other infrastructure disciplines (wet utilities, roads, landscape, etc.).

Authority Coordination

  • Manage authority submissions and approvals throughout all project stages.
  • Act as the primary liaison with DEWA LV Planning Department and other statutory authorities.
  • Ensure design compliance and resolve authority comments in a timely and professional manner.

Project Delivery

  • Prepare and monitor project design schedules, deliverables, and progress reports.
  • Support the tendering process by reviewing BOQs, technical specifications, and IFC drawings.
  • Provide technical support during construction and supervision stages.

Leadership & Management

  • Mentor and guide a team of electrical engineers and design coordinators.
  • Manage design budgets, scope changes, and consultant performance.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and provide expert advice on technical and strategic decisions.

Skills

  • Strong technical expertise in LV and electrical network design.
  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and electrical design tools.
  • Exceptional coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred

  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer accreditation.
  • Prior experience with developer-led masterplans or consultancy firms handling authority liaison.
  • Familiarity with GIS-based utilities data management systems.

Role Specific Qualifications & Training

  • Well experienced in management and design of dry utilities and networks, with relevant experience for large developments.

Educational Qualification

  • MSc or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Project Management certification is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–12 years.

Computer and Software Proficiency

  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and electrical design tools.

Industries Acceptable

  • Consultant / Design Studio.
