Authority Engineer

Job Purpose

The Authorities Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating all technical submissions, approvals, and permits required from various Dubai government authorities (such as Dubai Municipality, RTA, DDA, Dubai Holding, Trakhees, DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.) for real estate development projects. The role ensures that all project designs, construction activities, and planning processes comply with local codes, standards, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the submission, follow-up, and approval of project documentation with relevant authorities.
  • Review design documents to ensure compliance with authority guidelines and local building codes before submission.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and government entities to resolve technical queries and expedite approvals.
  • Monitor and track the status of all authority submissions and ensure timely renewals or updates of approvals.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to project stakeholders regarding approval timelines and risks.
  • Attend meetings and site inspections with regulatory authorities as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations, codes, and authority processes in Dubai and the UAE.
  • Assist in coordinating authority-related documentation for project handover and completion certificates.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to authority approvals that may affect project timelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the real estate or construction sector.
  • Experience in authority coordination or design approvals within the UAE.
  • In-depth knowledge of Dubai authority procedures and portals (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, Nakheel, RTA, DEWA, Civil Defense).
  • Professional fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and authority e-portals for online submissions.
