Authority Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the submission, follow-up, and approval of project documentation with all relevant authorities (e.g., Dubai Municipality, RTA, DDA, Dubai Holding, Trakhees, DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
  • Review design documents to ensure compliance with authority guidelines and local building codes before submission.
  • Act as a liaison between internal design, planning, and engineering teams and government entities to resolve technical queries and expedite approvals.
  • Monitor and track the status of all authority submissions and ensure timely renewals or updates of approvals as required.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to project stakeholders regarding approval timelines and risks.
  • Attend meetings and site inspections with regulatory authorities when required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations, codes, and authority processes in Dubai and the wider UAE.
  • Assist in coordinating authority-related documentation for project handover and completion certificates.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to authority approvals that may affect project timelines.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the real estate or construction sector.
  • Experience in authority coordination or design approvals within the UAE real estate or construction sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of Dubai authority procedures and portals, including Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, Nakheel, RTA, DEWA, and Civil Defense.
  • Professional fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and authority e-portals for online submissions.
