Cost Control Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Support the Development Cost Planning Business Plan by using tools and implementing cost planning processes on all projects.
  • Prepare detailed project cost plans, present recommendations, and benchmark at project reviews to achieve sign-off on Cost Planning outputs.
  • Assess skills gaps within the regional cost planning team and develop a plan to rectify them.
  • Control and monitor total project expenditure, including verifying and checking invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure proper recording of all project expenses.
  • Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects, including variation reporting, milestone progress monitoring, and preparation of customer billing processes.
  • Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitor milestone progress to support accurate billing processes.
  • Conduct technical and commercial reviews of subcontractor quotations for the preparation of service agreements.
  • Ensure effective project implementation by utilizing productive reports generated from Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) through project management systems to track purchases, invoicing, and deliveries up to project closure.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the project management team to resolve project issues and ensure timely completion of project work.
  • Attend project meetings and discussions with the Project Management Team (PMT) and external clients.
  • Perform project costing reports for team and management review on a monthly basis to ensure expenditures remain within budget.
  • Provide cost control and planning advice to the internal PMT team as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control-related training.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge in the use of XpedionMS Project, and ERP software is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeAutoCAD, and Primavera.
