Cost Control Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Development Cost Planning Business Plan using tools and implementing cost planning processes on all projects.
  • Prepare detailed project cost plans, present recommendations, and benchmark at project reviews to achieve sign-off of Cost Planning outputs.
  • Assess skills gaps within the regional cost planning team and develop a plan to address them.
  • Control and monitor total project expenditure, including verifying invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects, including variation reporting, milestone monitoring, and customer billing processes.
  • Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitor milestone progress.
  • Perform technical and commercial review of subcontractor quotations for preparation of service agreements.
  • Utilize Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) within project management systems to monitor purchases, invoicing, and delivery up to project closure.
  • Coordinate with project management teams to resolve project issues and ensure timely delivery.
  • Attend project meetings with PMT and external clients.
  • Provide monthly project costing reports to management to ensure expenditures remain within budget.
  • Advise internal PMT team on cost control and planning as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Xpedion, MS Project, ERP software, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Primavera.
