Duty Manager

Job Summary & Purpose:

To manage specific categories in the store, including all aspects of stock, manpower, productivity, front-end margins, and category top line.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Lead, inspire, and motivate store teams to achieve top-line targets and front-end margins.
  2. Monitor and review all store activities against pre-determined targets set as per the AOP, including productivity increases and efficiency improvements.
  3. Check display and merchandising of stock (e.g., correctness of price tickets).
  4. Ensure price changes are updated and reflected correctly on merchandise.
  5. Ensure the store operates as an independent profit center, closely managing both sales and expenditure.
  6. Ensure stocks/merchandise are received on time from inventory to the floor.
  7. Control and reduce shrinkage; check security of merchandise by conducting PI counts and variance reconciliation.
  8. Ensure display logic and planogram implementation for merchandise functionality.
  9. Track conversion rates at department and individual levels.
  10. Handle and resolve escalated customer complaints and queries.
  11. Track and resolve queries on returns, location transfers, Brand Promise, and customer deliveries.
  12. Monitor product availability for in-store promotions and campaigns; report shortfalls to the area manager.
  13. Conduct training and succession planning for team members.
  14. Timely communication and submission of reports on productivity, roster, leave planning, etc.
  15. Check staff grooming, discipline, and punctuality.
  16. Ensure adherence to checklists and processes (staff discount policy, store opening/closing, etc.).
  17. Adhere to MAMR policies.
  18. Conduct regular One-on-Ones with team members.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years in Retail Electronics and at least 1 year in people management.
  • Educational Qualification: Preferably Graduate; Professional Certifications in Retail Management.
  • Skills & Abilities: Customer Focus, Result Orientation, Teamwork, Leading People, Communication, Business Acumen, Problem Solving.
