Head of Concepts

Responsibilities

• Create design pitches and use AI for concept creation while exploring automation for design production.
• Manage resources within the team according to project needs.
• Lead a team of Architects, CAD/BIM Technicians, Visualizers, and Graphic Designers to deliver projects from feasibility to schematics, acting as a Design Guardian until TOK preparation.
• Deliver feasibility studies, pre-concept, concept, preliminary design approval kits, and sales/marketing kits per studio benchmarks.
• Promote teamwork within architectural and multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining morale and a creative culture.
• Ensure stakeholder requirements and design decisions are incorporated into project outcomes.
• Take accountability for the accuracy of project documents, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards.
• Prepare discipline drawings for submission to statutory authorities in coordination with the team.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of local and international codes, regulations, and submission requirements.
• Guide teams for design and technical excellence.
• Apply safety in design principles throughout all project stages.
• Engage in research and development to enhance studio performance and project outcomes.
• Build and maintain a network of suppliers, contractors, and other business partners.
• Review designs for cost, constructability, maintenance, and sustainability.
• Maintain traceable records of key design decisions including justifications and approvals.
• Work closely with authority coordinators to ensure compliance with local guidelines.
• Stay updated on architectural advances and share technical knowledge with the team.
• Have extensive experience with residential, retail, and mixed-use projects, including villas, low-rise, medium, and super high-rise buildings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in architecture and design, with substantial exposure to the UAE market.
• Proven ability to lead and drive concept design for landmark projects from ideation to fully resolved vision.
• Diverse background across multiple project types with at least 3 successfully executed projects demonstrating innovation and excellence.
• Outstanding freehand sketching and conceptual thinking skills, capable of resolving complex design details.
• Experience in large-scale real estate developments, including master plans, luxury mixed-use complexes, and hospitality projects.
• Deep understanding of international and local regulations (IBC, Dubai Municipality Codes, NFPA, UDC, and other applicable standards).

Additional Requirements

• 15+ years of experience with conceptual design.
