As a Planning Engineer reporting to the Deputy Head – Design and Engineering at our Design Studio in the Al Hudaiba Awards Office in Dubai, you will manage a team of senior and junior architects, BIM operators, oversee coordination and quality control of overall architectural technical design packages, and ensure successful final delivery within scheduled milestones according to Azizi Developments standards.

Role Description

This position operates at both studio and project/program levels, serving as the focal point for communication excellence by employing project control methodologies to guarantee the successful and timely execution of projects. The Senior Planning Engineer is a proficient manager, communicator, problem-solver, and organizer responsible for supervising a team of Planning Engineers and overseeing external consultants and their project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate tasks and resources while providing project management on specific projects and guidance to Design Management Teams for effective project delivery.
  • Provide project management support and guidance on multiple projects with efficiency and effective time management.
  • Assist Design Management Teams with project management tasks, procedures, and associated documentation, including progress reports, schedules, RFIs, Change Requests, and Risk Registers.
  • Assist Design Management Teams with programming of projects and maintain a high-level studio workload master programme.
  • Establish and define project control procedures and identify required resources in coordination with Design Management Teams.
  • Monitor and assist with compliance with QAQC and documentation procedures per Studio manuals.
  • Maintain change registers and coordinate between Design Management Teams and external consultants to manage change requests.
  • Report to Studio Leadership and Heads of Departments on projects at risk in relation to time and quality.
  • Support effective risk management practices, coordinate risk reporting, mitigation, and recovery planning, and maintain risk registers.
  • Facilitate project-specific procurement of external consultants and manage their performance and deliverables.
  • Communicate confidently with external consultants for reporting and resolving project management and contractual matters.
  • Lead a team of Planning Engineers, providing training and guidance, and manage other planning and project management duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Project Management, Problem-Solving, and Presentation skills.
  • Expert in Project Planning and Project Controls.
  • Strong knowledge of Design and Construction Processes.
  • Commercial and Contractual understanding.
  • Strategic orientation and influencing skills.
