Project Engineer - Mechanical

Job Purpose

To plan, execute, and monitor all mechanical works (HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting) in coordination with other engineering disciplines, ensuring project completion within schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to ensure compliance with design and client requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise mechanical installation activities at site.
  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, and other disciplines for approvals, inspections, and project progress.
  • Prepare and monitor material submittals, RFIs, method statements, and shop drawings.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems are installed according to approved drawings and safety standards.
  • Monitor site progress and prepare daily/weekly reports for management.
  • Assist in procurement activities by identifying material requirements and performing technical evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with project QA/QC and HSE standards.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of all mechanical systems.
  • Support project closeout activities including As-Built drawings and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in MEP construction (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting systems).
  • Strong knowledge of project execution, coordination, and site management.
  • Familiar with international mechanical standards and local authority regulations (e.g., Dubai Civil Defense, ADDC, DEWA).
